Home is where
the Hand is

A stone’s throw away from Wimbledon Common, our homely pub transports you to village life, away from the hustle and bustle of busy London. Our pub dates back to 1835, originally a bakery (you can still dine in the old oven area), The Hand has continually offered a fantastic selection of beers and traditional food to all who visited.

We’re famous for our home-made comfort food and real ales. Our menu is packed full of fresh dishes, colourful salads and of course… our famous pies are one of a kind. The Hand in Hand truly is your local countryside pub, located in London.

Make sure to visit us over the summer period – The Hand in Hand is the place to be for those al-fresco drinks and beautiful food.

Andrew and the team look forward to welcoming you!

An Ale-ucation

We’re delighted to offer, free of charge, our bespoke ‘Real Ale Workshops’. Learn the ‘ins and outs’ of the brewing process, complete with a backstage tour of a working Ale House. Taste the delights of a selection of traditional English Ales straight from the barrel and revel in the expertise of Ale Guru, Pub Landlord and Wimbledon Village legend, Andrew Ford.  You might even get to tap your own barrel!

Laura J

Thanks God there is still something in Wimbledon Village that has not lost its charm. Relaxed boozer with a grunge, uncontrived look and the best fish and chips in SW19. No big tv screens. It’s the pub where the locals of all ages go – and retreat when the tennis is on. When it gets very busy people spill out on the grass outside. F***ing brilliant!

Used to visit this pub a lot back in the 70’s, but hadn’t been there for over 35 years. It was excellent back then, and thought it’s changed a bit, it is still excellent.
Beers kept in superb condition, great food served by friendly staff….what more could you ask for? ( go-go girls…lol)
If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll be making a b-line for it. Keep up the good work!
