Home is where the Hand is

Situated on the edge of Wimbledon Common, the award-winning Hand in Hand pub offers a feel of a village life in the heart of London. Our delicious pub classics and popular Sunday roasts bring back all feelings of nostalgia and comfort.

Pies, Puddings and paddles

We’re famous for our home-made comfort food and real ales. Sourced from the freshest seasonal ingredients, our pies are a real must-try and pair perfectly with our award winning beer paddles. Don’t forget to leave room for our delicious puddings.

The Great Hand in Hand beer festival

After our first beer festival was a major success, we are doing it all again, in Spring! Come down from the 14th-18th of May for 5 days of Craft beers vs Cask ales. There will be a choice of burgers or traditional platters, live entertainment, talks from the Brewers and the usual Hand in Hand antics.

Home is where
the Hand is

Right on Wimbledon Common, our homely pub transports you to village life, away from the hustle and bustle of busy London. Our pub dates back to 1831, originally a bakery (you can still dine in the old oven area), The Hand has continually offered a fantastic selection of beers and traditional food to all who visited.

Our menu is packed full of fresh dishes, delicious Sunday roasts, tasty puddings and of course… our famous pies are one of a kind.

The Hand in Hand truly is your local countryside pub, located in London.

Andrew and the team look forward to welcoming you!

Thanks God there is still something in Wimbledon Village that has not lost its charm. Relaxed boozer with a grunge, uncontrived look and the best fish and chips in SW19. No big tv screens. It’s the pub where the locals of all ages go – and retreat when the tennis is on. When it gets very busy people spill out on the grass outside. F***ing brilliant!

Used to visit this pub a lot back in the 70’s, but hadn’t been there for over 35 years. It was excellent back then, and thought it’s changed a bit, it is still excellent.
Beers kept in superb condition, great food served by friendly staff….what more could you ask for? ( go-go girls…lol)
If I’m ever back in the area, I’ll be making a b-line for it. Keep up the good work!
